Online data backups start automatically

From then on, as long as your computer is online and functioning, data backups will start automatically according to the schedule that you have set. While backups are typically scheduled during the night when there are few people using your computers, backups have little or no impact on your computer's performance and your ability to access the Internet. Your computer is searched for data files

When a backup starts, your hard drive is scanned for only files that have changed since your last online data backup. Only these files need to be transmitted, minimizing the time it takes the online backup service to run.

Files are encrypted for data security

After being compressed, each data file is individually encrypted using your unique 128 bit encryption key for data security. Because your encryption key is stored only on your computer and is never transmitted over the Internet, no one but you will ever have access to your files.

Data sent securely over the Internet

For added data security, each encrypted file is then sent over the Internet via a secure channel using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the same Internet transmission technology that is used for online banking.
